Hello hello! My name is Mariel, I live in Scotland and I quite like that Garrett Hedlund fellow.
The first Garrett film I saw was Four Brothers; it was late at night, I refused to go to bed and it just so happened to be on TV. More specifically, Garrett’s face just so happened to be in the shot (the close up when he’s looking up at the lift – elevator, sorry – numbers to see which floor the guy gets off at) and who couldn’t fall for Jackiepoo?! I had only turned it on half way through, but I was hooked, so off to IMDB I went.
So through my stalking investigation, I came across some stories which inevitably led me to Garrett Minds, the wonderful forum that I never thought I’d become so attached to. It’s the first and only fan board I am a part of, and I am so glad I bit the bullet and not only signed up but stuck around to get to know the people involved. I have made some amazing friendships there, not least my darling Evava! And when she asked me to help her run Just Garrett on Halloween 2010 I high jumped at the chance, and I just love being the main source of Garrett news in the UK.
What really appealed to me was Garrett’s ability to actually act. He simply transforms into a different person on screen and I think it’s fascinating. His performance in Death Sentence was amazing to watch, and you really had to pinch yourself to remember that this cold blooded killer is the same person who brought tears to my eyes as the vulnerable Cracker Jack. Tron: Legacy was the first Garrett film I got to see in the cinema (I remember Four Brothers being advertised in the cinema, and thinking that even the cute guy in the poster wouldn’t be enough to convince my sister to go with me to see it) and it will not be my last. Don’t get me started on how excited I am for On The Road, it’s bordering on ridiculous.
I sincerely believe that Garrett Hedlund is one of the nicest and humblest actors working today, and I honestly don’t think he can comprehend how much he has changed people’s lives for the better. He deserves every success that goes his way, and we’ll always be here to support him.
